✨ DAY 9 ON THE 12 DAY JOURNEY: UNLOCKING THE IDENTITY OF JESUS CHRIST

⭐INTRODUCTION — “Who Do Men Say That I Am?”

Kingdom Insight (for Day 9)

This question marks a turning point in Jesus’ ministry:

Public opinion vs. personal revelation
  • Many saw Him as a prophet
  • Only revelation revealed Him as Messiah
  • Identity is not discovered through crowds, but through divine revelation

Jesus did not ask this question because He lacked identity—
He asked it to reveal who truly had sight.

Matthew 16:13–16 (KJV)

“When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am?And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

1. People STILL ask the same question today.
2. Jesus' identity is the foundation of the Kingdom.
3. You cannot understand salvation, deliverance, power, or the end times until you understand WHO Jesus is.
4. The Holy Spirit reveals Jesus — not religion.

Mark 8:27–29 (KJV)

“Jesus asked them, saying, Whom do men say that I am?
And he saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am?
And Peter answereth and saith unto him, Thou art the Christ.”

Luke 9:18–20 (KJV)

“Whom say the people that I am? …But whom say ye that I am?

Peter answering said, The Christ of God.”

⭐PART 1 — JESUS’ NAME: WHAT IT REVEALS

1. JESUS (Yeshua) — “Yahweh Saves”

  • Hebrew: Yeshua
  • Meaning: “The Lord is Salvation.”
  • Reveals His mission: save, rescue, deliver
  • Scripture: Matthew 1:21

Teaching Point:

He didn’t come to condemn, but to save those who are lost.

2. CHRIST (Mashiach) — “The Anointed One”

  • Greek: Christos
  • Hebrew: Mashiach
  • Meaning: The Anointed King
  • Reveals His position: King and Messiah

Teaching Point:

Christ is not Jesus' last name — it is His office, His anointing, His calling.

3. LORD (Adonai) — “Supreme Master, Owner”

Meaning: Ruler, One with all authority
Reveals His dominion: King of Kings

Teaching Point:

When you say “Jesus is Lord,” you are declaring He rules Heaven, Earth, Hell, and the grave.

⭐PART 2 — HIS EARTHLY TITLE: JESUS OF NAZARETH

This answers the human identity question:

  • Born of Mary
  • Lived in Nazareth
  • Worked as a carpenter
  • Walked among men
  • Experienced hunger, pain, weakness

Purpose:

So He could be the perfect sacrifice and understand human suffering.
Scripture: Hebrews 4:15

⭐PART 3 — HIS HEAVENLY IDENTITY: THE SON OF GOD

The Son of God means:

  • He shares the nature of the Father
  • He is eternal
  • He is divine
  • He is the Word made flesh

Scripture: John 1:1–14

Teaching Point:

Jesus is not “a created being.”
He is God manifested in the flesh.

⭐PART 4 — THE TITLES THAT IDENTIFY HIS PURPOSE

Each title reveals a different part of His identity:

1. Lamb of God — Sacrifice

John 1:29 - The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

2. Lion of Judah — Authority

Revelation 5:5 - And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof.

3. Good Shepherd — Care

John 10:11 - I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

4. Son of Man — Humanity

Daniel 7:13 -  I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

Matthew 26:64 - Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.

5. Bread of Life — Spiritual nourishment

John 6:35 - And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

6. Light of the World — Revelation

John 8:12 - Then spake Jesus to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

7. The Way, Truth, Life — Door to the Father

John 14:6 - Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.”

Teaching Point:

No one title explains Him — all of them together reveal His fullness.

⭐PART 5 — THE NAME ABOVE EVERY NAME

Scripture: Philippians 2:9–11

God gave Him a name that carries:

  • Authority
  • Power
  • Healing
  • Deliverance
  • Salvation
  • Dominion

Teaching Point:

Demons respond to Jesus, not “religion.”
Sickness responds to Jesus, not philosophy.
Sin responds to Jesus, not good works.

⭐PART 6 — WHY HIS IDENTITY MATTERS TODAY

If you don’t know WHO Jesus is, you won’t understand:

  • His power
  • His authority
  • His Kingdom
  • His promises

You can’t walk in something you don’t understand.
Jesus’ identity unlocks your true identity.

⭐PART 7 — THE IDENTITY QUESTION FOR THE BELIEVER

Jesus asked His disciples:

“Who do YOU say that I am?” (Matthew 16:15)

Your answer determines:

  • your salvation
  • your authority
  • your confidence
  • your spiritual growth
  • your relationship with God

Teaching Point:

You can’t unlock the Kingdom
until you first unlock the King.

CLOSING DECLARATION

“I know who Jesus is:
He is Yeshua my Savior,
Christ my Anointed King,
Lord over my life,
and the Son of God who lives in me.”

✨ Declaration

I declare that I do not follow Jesus by opinion or

tradition, but by revelation.

Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God,

and I know Him for myself.
